Helping Tenants & Community Members to Overcome Barriers
Tenants are faced with challenges that impact the stability of the family unit which are usually, family income changes, youth concerns, physical health changes, mental health changes, etc...; these negative changes directly impacts the outcome of a positive rental experience. Affordable Living & Supportive Services, offers assistance to non-residents as well as community members.
We offer second-chance holistic programming that focuses on strengthening the family base, increase support and decrease negative outcomes. Tenants & community members can rest assure that working through our program, we will help to build a strong-sustainable foundation that potential landlords will find attractive & increases your likelihood of success.
Potential Tenants
Affordable Living & Supportive Services is a unique program that provides second chances and focuses on strengthening the family unit & helping individuals to fortify their strengths. Therefore, all members of Affordable Living & Supportive Services are required to participate in our program that helps to support the family/individual holistically in the areas of housing stability, health, financial wellness, education, workforce development, youth development & community engagement.
Community Members/Landlords/Agencies
Through partnerships with landlords/owners, community members and agencies, we provide supportive services by using the resident services model. The resident services model helps us to provide individual/family support in the areas of housing stability, health, financial wellness, education, workforce development, youth development & community engagement.
Affordable Living & Supportive Services Available Spaces:
In addition to our properties, we have partnered with several property owners/managers to help keep Marylanders housed and to offer supportive services. Although our partners have their own criteria, we work with them to offer community members 2nd chances.
We use in place, individual/family-centered approaches to help the tenant to decrease or eliminate barriers that can negatively impact housing stability. Our services include the following:
1. Case management for family/individuals
2. Access to rental assistance
3. Access to energy assistance
4. Access to physical/mental health support
5. Financial wellness support
6. Access to government/private programming
7. Access to workforce development opportunities
8. Credit education/restoration support
9. Expungement services
10. Access to youth development/empowerment opportunities
11. Access to finger printing for new employment opportunities
12. Access to notary for important documents
13. Access to traditional banking
14. Access to notary & finger-printing services
15. NEW--we are now able to report rental history to help increase your credit scores
Qualifications for Our Program:
>You must have Medicaid
>Be willing to enroll all family members 6 and older
>You must be willing to engage with your support person bi-weekly via phone or Google Meets
>You must understand that this is a PROCESS--nothing will happen overnight
